Updated: Manny Pacquiao returns as a Kapamilya?.

It looks like, this story has not yet met its conclusion as the Pinoy boxer, Manny Pacquiao and Solar Entertainment has patched their differences yesterday.

Manny apologized to his fans for any confusion that may have been caused by his decision to cut and then renew his ties with Solar Sports Entertainment.

Here is a report from absCBNnews.com:

“Taos puso akong humihingi ng paumanhin kung kayo man ay naguluhan kung saan ipapalabas ang aking darating na laban kay Ricky Hatton. Ito po ay resulta lang ng hindi pagkaka-intindihan sa pagitan ng Solar Entertainment Corporation at MP Promotions,” Pacquiao said, in a statement read by his lawyer Franklin Gacal and aired over GMA-7.

Pacquiao said he decided to return to Solar after personally meeting with the company’s president Wilson Tieng and chief operating officer Peter Chanliong.

ABS-CBN's response:

In response to this latest development, ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp. said it has a signed contract with Pacquiao but that it would respect his decision if he changes his mind.

"Manny Pacquiao approached ABS-CBN to be his media partner in airing his next fights. We thank him for trusting us. He signed a contract with us, but we will not stand in the way if he decides to change his mind," ABS-CBN said. "We respect it, wish him good luck and we wait to hear from him."

Gacal, meanwhile, said that there is a possible meeting between Pacquiao and ABS-CBN Vice President for Sports Peter Musngi Saturday (Sunday in Manila).

"Sa ABS-CBN po, we would like to inform everybody that there is a possibility that Manny Pacquiao will be meeting Mr. Peter Musngi tomorrow," said Pacquiao's lawyer.

Pacquiao had rescinded his contract with Solar Sports Entertainment and chose ABS-CBN as the local broadcaster of his match against Hatton and other succeeding fights.

He claimed that Solar allegedly failed to settle its dues at the time specified in their contract.

Solar, however, claimed that the company has fulfilled all its financial obligations to Pacquiao.

Here is the original report:

Manny Pacquiao, the Pinoy boxing hero is back as a Kapamilya after he renewed his ties with ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp. The Kapamilya station will air his next matches including his highly-anticipated fight with British boxer Ricky Hatton on May 2.

“Pagkatapos kong pag-isipang mabuti nilapitan ko ang ABS-CBN at nagpagpasyahan ko pong makipag partner muli sa kanila,” Pacquiao said.

“Sarili ko itong desisyon,” he added. “Sa ABS-CBN mapapanood nyo ang laban ko kay Ricky Hatton at iba ko pang laban.”

Pacquiao and ABS-CBN have worked before in some of his fights and the broadcasting network has been airing his matches to Filipinos overseas through ABS-CBN's The Filipino Channel.

“Wala pong pagbabago,” number one pound-for-pound fighter said. “Ang laban ko ay laban nating lahat mga Pilipino, kahit saan mang sulok ng mundo.”

Pacquiao also appealed for his fans to continue their support especially in his forthcoming fight against Hatton, who is considered as his toughest match to date.
ABS-CBN welcomed the return of Pacquiao and it assured its support for his campaign against Hatton.

“We are very happy with the decision of Manny Pacquiao to be his partner in future fights, including the Pacquiao-Hatton fight on May 2. As his former media partner, we shall support Manny's campaign to bring honor to the Philippines and to his kababayans here and around the world,” Bong Osorio, ABS-CBN Head of Corporate Communications, said in a statement.

“To Manny, we say, 'Welcome home, Kapamilya',” he added.
