John Lloyd & Sarah are Guillermo Mendoza Box Office King and Queen


Kapamilya stars bagged the most number of awards in this year’s Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Awards. The love team of John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo went home with the trophies for Box Office King and Queen of the Year.

Hundreds of Filipinos watch 'You Changed My Life' in the US


According to a report from absCBNnews.com, hundreds of Filipinos in Elizabeth, New Jersey queued just to watch the movie “You Changed My Life” top billed by John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo. The blockbuster film held a special screening at Loew’s Theater.
Some of the spectators went to the venue three hours before the 1 pm showing but everyone had the same reaction after watching the movie. They said that the movie is really good and they are hoping that there’s a part three.

Despite the recession, Filipinos in New Jersey said they are willing to shell out $15 just to watch another John Lloyd-Sarah movie.

'You Changed My Life' earns a record P27M on Saturday


Three days after the movie's first showing,“You Changed My Life” has earned a record P27 million on February 28, its producer Star Cinema told entertainment talk show “The Buzz.”

Star Cinema said it is optimistic that the romantic-comedy film will hit P100 million in box-office receipts on Monday.

Under the direction of well-acclaimed director Cathy Garcia-Molina, “You Changed My Life” is posing to surpass the earning of “A Very Special Love.”

You Changed my Life is a sequel to A Very Special Love, which grossed a total of P180 million.

Lead star John Lloyd Cruz and Molina are both in the United States for the film’s screening there. Reached by phone, Cruz said the movie had two screenings in Los Angeles and the tickets were all sold out.

Meanwhile, due to huge success of their films, lead stars Cruz and Sarah Geronimo have been dubbed the “Box Office King and Queen.”

Geronimo thanked her fans, supporters and moviegoers for watching the film.

“Wala po akong masabi, sobrang overwhelming ang reception niyo. Salamat sa pag-suporta niyo sa team-up namin ni John Lloyd. Thank you Lord. Thank you sa inyong lahat,” Geronimo said.

Sarah Geronimo won 6 trophies in the 2009 Myx Music Awards


Sarah Geronimo won 6 trophies in the recently concluded MYX Music Awards 2009 held at the Mercalco Theater in Pasig City.

Sarah was voted as the Favorite MYX Celebrity VJ, Favorite Female Artist, and Favorite Artist of the Year. She also grabbed the Favorite Remake Award, Favorite Mellow Video, and Favorite Media Soundtrack all for the song “A Very Special Love” which is the theme song of her box-office hit film last year.

Sarah Geronimo says she's not yet ready for love


Sarah Geronimo admitted that she is not yet ready to get into a romantic relationship at this time. In an interview with “The Buzz”, Sarah said that she is not yet capable of handling a relationship seriously.

The young singer-actress who has been very private when it comes to matters of the heart, was in headlines recently when she revealed that she has a secret crush in showbiz.

"Hindi pa po ako ready," said Geronimo, who is now busy promoting her second movie, "You Changed My Life," with actor John Lloyd Cruz under Star Cinema.

Sarah is now linked to actor Rayver Cruz, previously said that she sees nothing wrong if she gets closer to the actor. Rayver is also in the movie "You Changed My Life."

According to the singer, she is now excited and pressured by her much-awaited film, especially after she was named as 2008 Box Office Queen of SM Cinema due to her hit debut film with Cruz, "A Very Special Love."

"Sana mas madagdagan pa namin ang manonood sa SM Cinema. Sana mas marami pa kaming mapasaya at mas maraming maniwala sa true love," she said.

John Lloyd and Sarah are SM Cinema's Box Office King and Queen.


SM Cinema recognized its own Box Office King and Queen for the first time and the recipient of the awards for 2008 are no other than John Lloyd Cruz and Sarah Geronimo for the Star Cinema romantic comedy “A Very Special Love”. The movie is also the top-grossing Pinoy film of 2008.

SM Cinema also released their list of top-grossing Philippine films of 2008 which was based on the ticket sales from their 198 cinemas nationwide, including the IMAX theater in SM Mall of Asia.

SM will also give Star Cinema the award for 2008 SM Cinema Top Grossing Local Film Producer.

“A Very Special Love” reportedly hauled around P180 million last year.

Sarah Geronimo’s major solo concert, a big success.


The Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo displayed her singing prowess in front of fans and showbiz stars that filled the Araneta Coliseum to watch her highly successful major solo concert Saturday night. The concert was dubbed “The Next One.”

Kapamilya stars such as Billy Crawford, Maja Salvador, Shaina Magdayao, Rayver Cruz and John Lloyd Cruz, her leading man in the box-office hit “A Very Special Love,” joined her onstage to perform at the jam-packed concert.

“Maraming, maraming salamat po. Sana po ay napasaya ko kayong muli at sana po maulit muli. Thank you very much,” she added.

Also present are ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp. president Charo Santos-Concio and Star Cinema’s managing director Malou Santos who showed support to the Kapamilya star.

Other stars like Mark Bautista, Jericho Rosales, Anne Curtis, Luis “Lucky” Manzano, KC Concepcion, Eric Santos, Gabriel Valenciano and Rachelle Ann Go were also among the crowd.

“Isa ‘yon sa mga dahilan kung bakit pressured na pressured ako tonight kasi alam kong darating sila pero hindi ako pinabayaan ni Lord. Thank you very much for your support,” Geronimo said after the concert.
