Vhong Navarro, first Pinoy Bingo Night millionaire


Actor-singer Vhong Navarro was the first millionaire of ABS-CBN’s “Pinoy Bingo Night,” which aired its pilot episode Monday.

Navarro won P1 million during the show’s second game. First solo player, ABS-CBN News senior correspondent Korina Sanchez, however, was not so lucky.

“[There are] two games every night so P2 million a night [ang] ipamimigay,” host Kris Aquino said.

Melanie from Binangonan, Rizal, on the other hand, was the first studio player to win P50,000.

“Every night may sure kang winner whether from studio audience, 200 of them, or the solo player. If you’re just watching at home, home player [can win] P200,000,” Aquino said, adding:

“Ang goal ng programang ito ay maging maginhawa, maging magaan ang buhay ng bawat Filipino. The reason I was wearing a Filipiniana is [because the show] is so Pinoy. Ipagmalaki natin.”

The newest and the biggest game show on ABS-CBN has “the most hi-tech set ever in the history of game shows in the country.”

Joining Aquino are Mel Feliciano and Brod Pete, who play the roles of “commissioner” and “bingo caller,” respectively.
