DZMM Radyo Patrol 630khz, the flagship AM radio station of ABS-CBN received two international honors last May from the New York Festivals International Radio Broadcasting Awards.
The 'Special Coverage of the Manila Hostage Drama' is a finalist in the Breaking News Story, while the science-oriented radio show "Bago Yan, Ah!" hosted by station manager Angelo Palmones is a finalist for the Talk Show Host category.
Just last year, the radio station also bagged the Best News category for Radio at the 2007 Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union Prizes held in Tehran besting more than 50 entries worldwide. This is in its continuing commitment to be Una sa Balita, Una sa Public Service.
According to the ABS-CBN news, Palmones is set to leave the country for the awards ceremony that will be held this coming June 19 at Tribeca Rooftop in New York.
