Sharon remains a Kapamilya

Megastar Sharon Cuneta has once again proved that she’s truly a Kapamilya after she renewed her contract with the Kapamilya network for another year.

"For 21 years I think there should be no question na I'm really Kapamilya. It's my family. This (contract) is for another year. Every year naman we sign a contract," Cuneta told "SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon."

The contract signing which was held at Edsa Shangri-La Hotel Monday was attended by the network’s chairman and chief executive officer Eugenio Lopez III, president Charo Santos-Concio, channel head Cory Vidanes, entertainment head Linggit Tan, and business unit head Cathy Perez.

Sharon who is hosting a talk show on ABS-CBN, shared that she would also like to do a sitcom following her hit comedy film "Best Friends Forever (BFF)."

"I think nagulat ang maraming tao noong lumabas ang BFF na kaya ko pa lang maging loka loka. Pero kapag drama ay special 'yon usually. Sa big screen ako makikita kapag ganoon," she said.

She is also currently filming a drama movie under Regal Films entitled “Mano Po 6: My Mother.”

The new hummer and other car reviews.

Aside from watching TV, one of the things that I also love is cars. I just love to look at new car models from different manufacturers which often are packed with new features.

One of the newest cars that I admire is the 2009 hummer which is just the car that I’m looking for. The handsome over-all design is just right for those who like military style vehicle. But the hummer is not just an ordinary military style vehicle as it also boasts of pick-up truck practicality.

Aside from the hummer, there are other new car models that are featured and reviewed in thecarconnection.com website. I also saw an overview of the newly styled body of the 2009 audi a4 which you will surely love if you are into luxury sedan.

So if you’re looking at buying a new car or simply an enthusiast who is interested in the latest car from the world’s innovator and automobile manufacturer, you should take a look at the wide array of car models reviewed and featured in this website. It will help to consider what the experts have to say about a particular car before making a purchase. And where else can you get comprehensive reviews from the expert but from thecarconnection.com. Gretchen and Claudine to unite in a new Teleserye.

Sisters Gretchen and Claudine Barretto will unite in a new Kapamilya teleserye where they will play sisters.

According to "SNN: Showbiz News Ngayon", Gretchen, who just came from United States, will be taping a comeback television series with her youngest sister Claudine.

Gretchen said Claudine’s presence in the cast would surely boost her acting and stamina to last the taping series.

She added that she's open to getting advice from Claudine, who is one of the country's award-winning actresses.

"Kakayanin ko ang taping basta si Claudine Barretto ang kasama ko. Kasi alam naman natin na si Claudine ay marami nang acting awards, so gusto ko ma-inspire at gusto kong matuto din from her," Gretchen said.

In need of a vacation.

It’s been a long time since the last vacation that I had with my family. It was last year when Donna and I went to Baguio city for the Panagbenga Festival. Earlier this year, our team had an activity and an overnight stay in Zambales for the celebration of the two-year anniversary of our account.

I understand that our country and most countries of the world are at the verge of recession and some are going through tough times but this doesn’t mean that we already lost our right to relax and have fun. We also deserve a breather from our stressful jobs. Burn out can even cost us our jobs if we didn’t take the opportunity to loosen up.

Recently, I saw pictures of a friend who is in South Carolina who had a good time in Myrtle Beach Resorts. He only had good words about the modern accommodation that they experience in the beautiful Prince Resort at the entrance to The Cherry Grove Pier.

He and his wife fell in love with the serene beauty of Myrtle Beach Resort, with its waterfront location perfect for relaxing and other leisure activities. He said that Prince Resort has superb customer service and has plenty of dining options. Add that to other exciting features in the resort like the dazzling pools, lazy river, and hot tubs.

I was totally envious of my friend so I started planning a vacation for myself in the coming months. But if you’re near South Carolina and you want to go to the beach for a romantic getaway or a large family reunion, check out Myrtle Beach Accomodations and make your ocean adventure the best one, ever!

The best and most affordable prescription eyeglasses online.

It was only recently when I was browsing for affordable eyeglasses online. Don’t get me wrong, I was not looking for eyeglasses for myself but for my parents who are now on their 70’s. But if I stumbled upon affordable but stylish sunglasses online it will not hurt if I buy myself one.

Well, like I said, I was looking for eyeglasses for my parents. Although their eyesight remains good for their ages, reading books can now be a difficult task. My father even loves to read. He can read volumes of books for a long time without getting bored. So instead of buying them any other things which they can live without, I deem it is best to buy them new eyeglasses.

It is a good thing that I came across a website showcasing a Wide Selection of Eyeglasses. They have eyeglasses especially made for men, women and kids. You can also find stylish frames made of metal, plastic, titanium or even bendable materials.

But what I found fantastic on this website is their virtual try-on. You can try on any of the glasses using your favorite model, your photo from your webcam or an uploaded picture so you will know instantly if the glasses suit you perfectly. On top of that, all their eyeglasses orders will come with high quality stylish frame, high index lens, Anti Scratch, UV protection, Quality case and Cleaning Cloth. This is true even for the $8.00 ones. Yes, you read it right. You can get your own eyeglasses for as low as $8!

So, if you want to get your money’s worth on stylish new frames, check out glassesshop.com. You can order your new eyeglasses online now!

Buying Hollywood bowl tickets.

It is a dream for any entertainment fan to watch a concert of a famous singer or artist in a well known venue as the Hollywood Bowl. It will be a once in a lifetime experience for somebody who is not living in the United States.

I just saw the schedules and line up of activities this year and I was amazed to see big stars that will soon perform in Hollywood Bowl. It includes among others Kylie Minogue, Jason Mraz, Incubus, Patti LaBelle, Diana Krall, Depeche Mode and Barry Manilow. I am a big fan of Jason Mraz and Barry Manilow so it will be a treat to watch them perform live.

However, buying Hollywood Bowl tickets is not an easy task. Some people can go to the venue, wait in the long queue even without an assurance that they will get the prized tickets. Calling the venue may not be a better option.

Contacting an online broker to buy tickets is a better alternative. And when it comes to ticket brokers, always check out acheapseat.com. They pride themselves to have the cheaper prices and great service. You can contact them through e-mail or telephone and you are sure that your questions will be promptly attended by a professional ticket broker.

You can also order Jeff Dunham Tickets and Pageant Of Masters Tickets. They also offer a great selection of concert, theater, and sporting events tickets.

For more information, visit their website and know more about their services. You can even buy tickets online.

Star Cinema defends Angel Locsin

An executive of Star Cinema, ABS-CBN’s movie outfit has spoken with Lily Monteverde to explain why Angel Locsin could not join Megastar Sharon Cuneta in “Mano Po 6: My Mother.”

In an official statement, managing director Malou Santos said that she assured Monteverde, the matriarch of Regal Films, that Locsin wanted to be part of the movie. The actress, however, could not commit due to "prior commitments and busy schedules."

After her television series, “Only You,” Santos disclosed that Locsin is scheduled to make two films – one with Aga Muhlach under the direction of Cathy Garcia-Molina and another with director Chito Roño.

She added that the actress will also start taping for a new teleserye.

"I hope this will put the issue to rest. Thank you for your understanding and continued support to Angel Locsin," Santos said.

The statement was issued after Monteverde reportedly expressed disappointment over Locsin's decision not to do the film with Cuneta.

Monteverde reportedly claimed that Locsin had a commitment to make three more movies under Regal. Despite this, Monteverde said she held no grudge against Locsin and ABS-CBN.

Remodeling your house.

Have you ever thought of remodeling your home? There will come a time when a house remodeling is necessary. We may need to add a new room to our house, upgrade our bathroom or expand the kitchen. Certainly, the things that we require for our house today may not be the same as when we built our house years ago.

I already thought of this when we were looking for a house to acquire months ago although I knew that it will be hard to foresee what changes need to be done for the house in the future. However, what I did is I made sure that there’s a spare room in the house and that the house has enough space for any remodeling plans in the future.

In the United States, the housing market is currently in a widespread depression. But with most of the country's aging housing stock, the need for remodeling is even greater. Besides, it is more practical to remodel your house than to buy and move to a new house. And some consider it as an investment; they said that kitchen, bath and bedroom upgrades will show the greatest return for money invested should you decide to sell the property in the future. These are the reasons why the great Kansas City remodeling business is still flourishing despite the odds in the housing industry.

If you are in need to remodel your house, check with a local Kansas City remodeling contractor to make sure that you’ll be able to get all the information that you need and that you can be guided accordingly. You can also visit their website for more information.

'Maria De Jesus' premieres on ABS-CBN's Hapontastic block on Monday

Hot stars Maite Perroni and William Levy pair up in Maria De Jesus, the newest Mexicanovela in ABS-CBN’s Hapontastic block. A well-loved singer from the pop group RBD, Perroni made her acting debut in the telenovela Rebelde in 2004. She was duubbed as the next Thalia. Meanwhile, Levy has been dubbed one of the sexiest leading men in telenovelas. This Brad Pitt-lookalike model won a Best Actor trophy for his performance in Maria De Jesus. Levy is now finishing a film with Jacqueline Bracamontes, the lead star of Las Tontas.

After spending her childhood in the orphanage, Maria De Jesus (Perroni), or Marichuy, runs away and lives on the street by herself. Growing up wandering the dangerous streets, Marichuy is raped by a stranger. The ordeal leaves her traumatized for the rest of her life.

She tries her best to live a normal life with an elderly woman named Candelaria. Marichuy will try different odd jobs to help Candelaria with the expenses, but because of her mischievous ways, Marichuy gets into trouble with the law. She faces the court where the judge, who may be responsible with her unhappy fate as a child, sends her to jail.

But psychoanalyst Juan Miguel San Roman (Levy) comes to her rescue. The court will put Marichuy under the careful watch of Juan Miguel. Living under one roof, he will then begin to see the goodness in Marichuy. However, Juan Miguel is still haunted by the tragic memory of his wife’s death. Juan Miguel falls in love with Marichuy, but before they can enjoy a happy life together, she will discover his deep dark secret.

Be captivated by the romance—with a twist—between Marichuy and Juan Miguel in Maria De Jesus beginning July 6 right after Precious Hearts Romances presents Bud Brothers.
