KC leads global walk vs hunger in Taguig

This is from the ABS-CBN news:

Actress KC Concepcion, United Nations World Food Program (WFP) ambassador, on Sunday led the walk against child hunger at the open field of Bonifacio Global City in Taguig.

Dubbed as "End Hunger: Walk the World," the event, which was participated by an estimated 3,000 people, was aimed at raising public awareness and funds to feed 59 million poor children who attend schools on an empty stomach.

The participants began their walk at 6 a.m. and they circled around the open field for 30 minutes.

Concepcion urged the public to reach out and help the children who are dying because of hunger especially now that prices of basic commodities continue to go up.

Social Welfare Secretary Esperanza Cabral echoed Concepcion’s call, saying that each individual should do his own share to combat hunger.

The walk against hunger, an initiative of WFP, was simultaneously done in other countries.

Ruffa joins cast of Betty La Fea.

It's official, Ruffa Gutierrez will play the role of Daniella in the much-awaited Filipino version of Betty La Fea.

Here's a report from abs-cbnNEWS.com

TV host Ruffa Gutierrez will join the cast of the much-awaited television series "Yo Soy Betty La Fea!" with actress Bea Alonzo as Betty.

The exclusive official announcement was made through ABS-CBN's "The Buzz."

Gutierrez will play the role of Daniella.

Aside from Alonzo, Gutierrez is another big star chosen to be part of the cast.

The production’s casting is still ongoing, as well as the voting in unofficial polls for the role of the leading man, Armando.

When Bea found out that Gutierrez would join "Yo Soy Betty La Fea," her reaction was simple. "She’s perfect for the role! I love it."

Gutierrez's scenes with Alonzo is something to look forward to. It is exciting that an international beauty queen will be Alonzo’s co-star in the program.

Gutierrez is also excited since "Yo Soy Betty La Fea" will seem like a fashion show as she will wear fabulous clothes, shoes, bags and jewelry.

The role is perfect for the beauty queen and it’s amusing to think that when Ruffa joined the Ms. World competition, one of the judges was Vanessa Williams, who plays Wilhelmina’s sister in "Ugly Betty" in the United States.

Williams had asked Gutierrez, "What advice would you give ugly girls?" What a coincidence.

The question was perfect since now Gutierrez is part of "Yo Soy Betty La Fea." What will be her answer to Ms. Williams as she plays the role of Daniella?

Piolo, first Filipino artist invited to the Paris Festival

Piolo Pascual really made it big this year. Aside from the success of his teleserye “Lobo” and a number of product endorsements, he was just invited to grace the Festival Paris Cinema 2008 as the first ever Filipino artist especially invited to this event. True Blue Kapamilya.

This blog is all about ABS-CBN shows and stars, nothing else. Being a true blue Kapamilya, there’s no room on this blog about other networks or their stars, I simply don’t know them.

I was raised on a family where the Television is fixed on one TV station, ABS-CBN, nothing else. Don’t even say something bad about the station in our household or you’ll get into trouble. Lol

Anyway, expect to see lots of Kapamilya stuff here and you’re welcome to contribute.
